About

Vim Valero is an illustrator and designer based in Richmond, Virginia, with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University. Their work, inspired by 1970s and 80s media and contemporary comic artists, exploring self-identity, queer relationships, and everyday beauty.

In addition to their creative practice—spanning zine-making, comic creation, and graphic design—Vim works in library services, where they help connect communities through access to resources and meaningful interactions. Their background in customer service and community engagement drives their passion for fostering connections through both art and public service.

Outside of work, Vim enjoys collaborating with their partner, caring for their blind cat, Pinto, and nurturing their houseplants. They are always seeking ways to merge artistic vision with community initiatives.
