Vim Don’t Be is run by queer Richmond-based artist Vim Valero. They find inspiration in everyday nuances and imperfections and apply it to their digital and traditional illustrative works. Their work explores self-identity, queer relationships, and everyday, often overlooked, beauty.

In addition to their creative practice, spanning zine-making, comic creation, and illustration, Vim works in library services, where they help connect communities through access to resources and meaningful interactions. Their background in customer service and community engagement drives their passion for fostering connections through both art and public service.

Outside of work, Vim enjoys collaborating with their partner, caring for their blind cat, Pinto, and nurturing their houseplants. They are always seeking ways to merge artistic vision with community initiatives.
